This policy describes how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information, and how we maintain the quality and security of your personal information.
What is Personal Information, and what do we collect?
Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Information we collect include names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers.
The Giving Angel collects Personal Information entered onto our website, provided to us directly, or given to us in other forms, including but not limited to when you provide feedback, when you change content or email preferences, respond to surveys and/or promotions, provide financial or credit card information, or communicate with The Giving Angel customer support.
We collect Personal Information for the Primary Purpose of:

- supporting donation processing, reporting, and partner charity requirements where applicable;
- improving the quality of services that we offer;
- internal administrative purposes; and
- marketing and research.
We may use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the Primary Purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure.
When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.
You may choose to place your order and donate using a pseudonym. If you choose to deal with us in this way, we may not be able to provide you with our services or otherwise interact with you, including to resolve any issues with delivery or to provide a receipt for your purchase and donation.
Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information directly from you. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances, including:

In some cases, Personal Information is required to be provided to a partner charity as part of our partnership arrangements. In other cases, we do not share donor information with the charity.
Where Personal Information is shared with a partner charity, it will be limited to what is reasonably required and handled in accordance with Privacy Law and this Policy.
Our partner charities collect and hold Personal Information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
We will otherwise only disclose Personal Information to third parties where you have provided consent.
The Giving Angel partners with Australian charities and engages Australian service providers. We do not disclose Personal Information to overseas recipients. However, Personal Information may be stored on servers located outside Australia where reasonable safeguards are in place.
Online activity
The Giving Angel's website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers the website puts on your device if you allow it. These cookies recognise when your device has visited our website before, so we can distinguish you from other users of the website. This improves your experience and The Giving Angel website.
We do not use cookies to identify you, just to improve your experience on our website. The Giving Angel's website contains links to websites operated by third parties. If you access a third party website through our website, personal information may be collected by that third party website. We make no representations or warranties in relation to the privacy practices of any third party provider or website and we are not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of any third party provider or website. Third party providers / websites are responsible for informing you about their own privacy practices and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Security of Personal Information
Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the Primary Purpose, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in files which will be kept by us for a minimum of seven years.

The Giving Angel will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.

It is an important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
